Title : Analysis on Comparing the Performance of Alpha Miner Algorithm on MYSQL and Oracle Authors : Mekhala
Abstract :
Process mining is a field that analyses the event log to discover, enhance and improve business processes and check performance between run time and design time business processes. The event logs are stored in databases. Many databases are available for handling and saving huge data like Oracle and MYSQL. However there are certain applications for which some databases do not implement. MYSQL has emerged for handling such applications. For this alpha miner algorithm is the most widely used technique. Our objective is to compare the performance of MYSQL and Oracle under process mining. We implement the alpha miner algorithm on row oriented database in database query languages. We present a performance benchmarking and comparison of α miner algorithm on row oriented databases to store massive event logs and analyse it in seconds to discover a process model. |

Title : The Deep Web: Determining the Surface Hidden Value Authors : Shivanshu Gautam, Dr Ankur Goyal
Abstract :
The field of information technology has overridden every knowledge field and almost all the technology available in present. Huge amount of data is available on the web/internet that can be read effortlessly by anyone and wherever across the world over the internet. The internet has amplified the craving of the masses to rely on it, to the degree that the need can be said to be nearly comprehensive. The facts on World Wide Web is aggregating spirally causing into large amount of information to be thrown out of the surface. The extraction of the relevant but thrown out data is becoming challenging chore day by day as the traditional network crawlers focus only on the information that is available on the surface of this web network, wherein the contents in deep web is sized as, some multiple times as that of the surface web but deep web is expanding at exponential rate. The Deep web data could be fetched using the query interfaces. The Hidden Web Extractor generically called “the HWE”, which assists in finding the relevant information and harnessing the info out of the Deep Web repositories and hence the query interface is the only instrument for tracking the most relevant data out from the Hidden part of a website. The Hidden Web Extractor has supported the user in retrieving infinite number of website pages through the significant outlines of queries. |

Abstract :
In order to address increased public concern about demand for the eco-friendly preservatives an environment friendly wood preservative, system need to be developed that go beyond the scope of traditional wood preservation. In this study combination of Glycerol/Glyoxal has been used as a fixing agent to fix boron. From the leaching studies it has been observed that boron treated wood samples indicates 0.59% compare to that of control samples which indicated 2.87%. From the results it has been observed that Glycerol/Glyoxal acts as fixing chemical and reduces the boron from the treated wood samples. Boron/Glycerol/Glyoxal of 8% concentration preservative chemical treated wood samples have conformed to the exposure limits of 36 months without attack from the termite when tested as per Indian Standard - 4873. Hence from the study it is recommend that 8% of Boron/Glycerol/Glyoxal concentration can be used for preservation of wood as a fixing agent to control leaching from the treated wood samples. |
