Title : A Systematic Review of Literature on Theories Available on Sustainable Supply Chain Management Authors : Amarasuriya D.G.K.S.
Abstract :
Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM) is a still maturing research field which needs more studies done in an integrated manner. Importance of SSCM is increasing each day, due to the need of having firms to be sustainably operating. Main objective of the study was to map the theories available in SSCM literature and identify the gaps which could be used as avenues for future research. Methodology used was Systematic Review of literature together with a content analysis. Review was done for 32 articles found in literature during the period 1995 to 2015. Usage of few popular theories like Resource Base view, Transaction Cost Economics Theory, Institutional theory, Agency Theory etc were commonly identified with a lack of research conducted considering all three factors of sustainability. The call for more research on the social aspect of sustainability, quantification of impact of aspects of sustainability on firm’s SC performance with more theoretically grounded studies and the adoption of theories which spring out from SSCM itself, rather than theories borrowed from other disciplines were identified as the recommendations of the study. |

Title : Experimental Study on Concrete with Limestone Powder and Copper Slag Authors : P. Anusha, K. Sai Ramya
Abstract :
Concrete is composite material, it is used as construction material due to good compressive strength and durability. Most of cement plants consume more energy and produce large amount of undesirable products, which effects of environment. Nearly 7% of the total global CO2 emission is contributed by cement industries. In the recent attempts have been made for the prosperous utilization of various cement mineral additions such as copper slag, pozzolan, sand and limestone powder. The limestone powder is used as the concrete productions for its very low cost and high workability of concrete. The main aim of this project is to investigate the compressive strength, flexural strength and split tensile strength of M40 grade of concrete. The limestone powder and copper slag are used as replacing material for cement and fine aggregate to improve its mechanical properties. For 10%, 15%, 20% of lime stone powder with 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% with interval of 20% of copper slag are consider for concrete mix and compared with conventional concrete. |

Title : A Systematic Review of Literature on Theories Available on Procurement Compliance Authors : Amarasuriya D.G.K.S.
Abstract :
In order for any organisation to maintain their competitive edge and stance as an ethical company, compliance to Procurement Best Practices and managing the procuring cost since it means managing the revenue out flow of the company, will be crucial for any organisation. Hence ensuring that procuring activities, a key link in any Supply Chain, comply to the golbally accepted standards will be important for a company to secure the advantageous edge they have over the others in the industry. Procurement Compliance (PC) as an academic field, is nurtured with many theories adopted from diverse disciplines. Main objective of the study was to map those theories available in PC literature and identify the gaps which could be used as avenues for future research. Systematic Reviewing of literature was the methodology leveraged in conducting the study, together with a content analysis. Review was done for 18 articles found in literature during the period 2000 to 2018. Usage of popular theories like Agency Theory,Transaction Cost Economics Theory, Stakeholder Management Theory, Resource Base View etc were identified to be commonly used in PC related studies with a lack of research conducted considering theories which are specific to the filed of Supply Chain Management (SCM), the field from which PC emerges from. The call for more research on the quantification of the imapct of factors asscociated with these theories on PC and at large, the firm’s performance and conducting studies with theories springing out from SCM itself, rather than theories borrowed from other disciplines were identified as the recommendations of the study |

Title : Development of a Wireless Surveillance Robot for Controlling from Long Distance Authors : Shahajada Mahmudul Hasan, Syed Mamun R Rasid, Avijit Mallik, Md. Rokunuzzaman
Abstract :
A robot has been developed which can be used for multipurpose application related to surveillance and security systems. From ground testing of this robot it has been found that it can be controlled from unlimited distance as the system is based on World Wide Web (www). This robot also has a teleoperation system based on radio frequency (RF) for signal processing. It has been found that this robot shows about 78% efficiency when a constant 512 kbps Wi-Fi internet connection is applied. Visual Basic software has been used to operate the robot. Four cameras are attached with the robot for acquisition of images from the surroundings. Vmcap software is used to show all these camera images at a time. The images from the four cameras and the control panel will be transmitted and displayed in the user’s monitor. Virtual network computing (VNC) software has been employed for the purpose. By watching the situational images sent by the remote robot it is the user who can control the motion as well as can get the idea of the environment. A GPS (Global Positioning system) device is mounted over the robot to get the satellite image of the mobile robot trajectory of motion and a total track map. This paper describes the methods and scopes of the above-mentioned robot |
