Title : AGRO-Wastes Utilization in Oilfield Operations for Sustainable Development Authors : Uzoho. C. U, Akaranta. O
Abstract :
Oilfield chemicals are expensive and essential in oil and gas operations. Over 10% of the cost of drilling is apportioned to drilling fluids; therefore, there arises a need to substitute conventional chemicals with agro-wastes as additives in drilling operations. This paper appraises the use of oil palm empty fruit bunch (EFB), rice husk, walnut shell powder, coconut shell powder, groundnut husk, cassava mesocarp, orange mesocarp, corn cob, palm bunch and plantain peel as loss circulation materials, thinning agents, defoamers, filtration control additives, flocculants and deflocculants, dispersants, viscosifiers/thickeners, emulsifier and pH control agents in drilling mud formulations. Publications showed that 20g of rice husk to 350ml of mud gave a decrease in fluid loss and the addition of rice husk to a drilling mud increased its density and viscosity. Soda lignin was also extracted from black liquor of oil palm empty fruit bunch (EFB) by 20%v/v sulphuric acid and used as dispersant in drilling mud. The utilization of agro-wastes will reduce cost of production, maximize profit, and create job opportunities for sustainable development. |

Title : Analysis for Identifying Best Fit Clustering Algorithm on Web Usage Data Authors : Naveen Kumar Penki, M. Rekha Sundari, Y. Srinivas
Abstract :
Web Usage Mining (WUM) is the important application of data mining techniques to discover interesting usage patterns from web access log. Analysing the web usage logs helps understand the user’s browsing behaviour. In our work we implement the K-means (KM), K-medoids and Fuzzy C-Means algorithms on web log data. These algorithms group the users with similar browsing behaviour into the same cluster. A single Algorithm may not be accurate for all types of data sets. We may not initially know which algorithm fits to our data set best. So we compared the clustering accuracy of these algorithms using different accuracy measures available and by analysis we conclude the algorithm that is best suited for web usage data |

Numerous urban areas are centered on getting to be "smarter" and intelligent. They are investigating the force of ICT to wind up more productive, compelling, straightforward, responsible as well as practical. Be that as it may, there has not been an efficient push to see such city level activities and the part they play in making urban areas smarter and enhancing smart governments. Thus this paper will provide best practices of how to attract people to use smart government. Be that as it may, reinforcing the innovation ability pipeline will require more than simply making youngsters mindful of open segment alternatives. To attract the talent it needs, government must exploit improved organizations with the educated community to end up more modern and roll out the improvements that would make a domain that is all the more inviting to the well informed. Right now, an excess of government officials don't comprehend what their innovation needs are. Until more do it will be difficult to make conceivable open division vocation steps to draw in innovation experts. The study reveals that most of the people are not using smart government services due to lack of knowledge about this innovative technology and service, and its positive effects of their lives. To provide the basic knowledge about smart government is the responsibility of the government. This paper will also provide best practices to attract people to use smart government. Theses best practices and framework will help the government of several countries to contribute towards the welfare, health and education of citizens. |

Title : Saline Irrigation-Water Management Strategy in Wheat Cultivation for Higher Yield and Water Productivity Authors : M. H. Ali
Abstract :
Salt stress is one of the most important abiotic stresses that adversely affect crop productivity and causes significant crop loss worldwide. The objective of this field study was to investigate the effect of different saline irrigation regimes and amelioratives on the yield performance of two wheat cultivars. Irrigation treatments were comprised of medium saline irrigation (6-7 dS/m) combinations at different growth stages along with excess gypsum and potash application, medium saline irrigation with intermittent fresh water applications, and high saline irrigation (9-12 dS/m) along with excess gypsum and potash application. The results revealed that the interactions between treatments and varieties were not significant for yield attributes, although there were distinct varietal differences in some cases. It is also evident that medium saline irrigation (7-8 dS/m) couple with intermittent fresh-water irrigation produce good yield (4.0-4.4 t/ha) of wheat cultivars. Saline irrigation at flowering - sot-dough stage of growth does not bring any benefit to grain yield. High saline irrigation (9-12 dS/m) at CRI, late-tillering, and booting-heading stages along with excess gypsum and K-application produced reasonable yield. Medium saline irrigation (7-8 dS/m) at CRI, late-tillering, and booting-heading stages along with excess gypsum and K-application produces reasonable yield. |

Title : Exploring the Situation of Crises Management in the Egyptian Construction Industry Authors : H. H. Muhammad, A. H. Ibrahim, M. S. Elshennawy
Abstract :
Crises are the most crucial challenges that face the administration of any institution; it has become rare to find any institution not exposed to, or is about to face some kind of crisis. For any firm, crisis has the possibility to threaten its reputation, profitability, competitiveness, market share, and ultimately its survival. Due to its complex nature, construction industry may face crises at organizational or sectoral level in general. This paper aims to conduct a survey among construction practitioners to assess the actual situation of crises management in the Egyptian construction industry. Based on an interviews survey held with 98 experts who have more than fifteen years of experience, who represent the main parties of the industry. The main finding of this paper is that, levels of application crises planning and management among the Egyptian construction firms was very low, it remains poor understood with very low level of interest. In addition, expert's familiarity, knowledge and practicing was loose. So, it became imperative to publicize the culture of crises planning and management among construction practitioners to benefit from it at both organizational and sectoral level of construction industry in Egypt. |

Title : Power Quality Enhancement of MPPT for Single Stage PV-Grid Connected System Using PI Controller Distributed Particle Swarm Optimization (PI-DPSO) Authors : Ms.Trivelli Shekhar Naidu, Prof.Bushra Khan, Prof.Radhraman Shah
Abstract :
The power quality resources have continuously played an important role in the growth of human livings. PSO tuned PI controller are compared and a mark reduction in total harmonic reduction is with number of generations. PI Controller distributed Generation units that encompass a portion of an electric power distribution system and may rely on different energy sources. Functionally, the PI controller is required to provide adequate levels and quality of power to meet load demands. The issue of power quality is significant as it directly affects the characteristics of the PI controller operation. This problem can be defined as an occurrence of short to long periods of inadequate or unstable power outputs by the PI controller. In a stand-alone operation mode, the system voltage and frequency must be established by the PI controller; otherwise the system will collapse due to the variety in the PI controller component characteristics. When more accuracy is required, this rule should be used. Simulation and experimental results are provided for both numerical statistical techniques Simpson’s such as under the same atmospheric condition. From the simulation and experimental results, the particle swarm optimization (PSO) based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for PV system is presented which is interrelated with other control schemes such as synchronization with grid and current control finding lower error event as compare with PVMPPT with same saturated voltage which can deliver more power than the conventional MPPT Technique. In our proposed scheme is to define the global and local best fitness for the STATCOM in order to improve power quality and minimize power losses in the grid with PI controller and RLC branch, using Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm and we also comparing with base Genetic algorithm which implement programming and Simulink design in MATLAB tool. |

Title : Energy Quality in a Hospital of West Africa (Cameroon – Bafang District Hospital) Authors : Jimmy B. M. RAKOTONIRINA, Max R. ANDRIANANTENAINA, Jean N. RAZAFINJAKA
Abstract :
This work deals with the quality of energy in a hospital in West Africa. The Bafang Hospital, a district hospital whose energy quality depends on the out datedness of the apparatuses used and the electrical installation itself. Qualimetrics measurements are taken know, the quantity of absorptive energy weekly (active / reactive), the quality of the voltage, the quality of the current and the quality of the frequency. The imbalance, one of the defects that persists in the network of the hospital because of the bad distribution of the loads leading to the increase of the global rate of the harmonic 5 for the current and 3 for the tension. On the other hand, the frequency is always in the standards at 99% of the measurement time, which is well ensured by the energy distributor. So the energy quality of the hospital depends on their consumption and their own distribution |

Title : Kinematic Characteristics of the Central Part of Karaisalı-Karsantı Fault Zone, Southern Turkey Authors : Dilek Satir-Erdag
Abstract :
Turkey is located in the Alpine-Himalayan Orogenic Belt and represents one of the seismotectonically most active regions of the world. Collisional, extensional and strike-slip tectonic regimes lead its seismicity. There are many faults about which quite limited information is available in especially central and southern parts of Turkey that accommodate many faults defined in this context. With its ~150 km length the Karaisalı-Karsantı Fault Zone is one of the most important tectonic structures of southern Anatolia. Information about the fault zone, which is described as a ‘potentially active fault’ on the current active fault map, is considerably limited. However, the region dominated by the fault hosts two densely populated metropolitans of Turkey; Adana and Mersin cities. Current literature related to the fault define it as a left-lateral strike-slip fault basing on the morphological criteria. It was concluded from our structural analysis conducted on fault planes located at the central part of Karaisalı-Karsantı Fault Zone that it is a normal fault with a minor left-lateral. The obtained data indicate that the information about the characteristics of important faults in southern Anatolia is imperfect and the region’s structure and seismology need to be examined in more detail to identify its active tectonics more reliably. |
